ultrasound picture — 21 weeks and 2 days

i’m posting this a little late, but i have a little extra time since i’m home today — it’s a SNOW DAY!   we would have had only a 1/2 day if we had been in school.  i’m actually a little disappointed ’cause it’s actually a fun day at school.  but, i don’t mind not having to brave the weather to drive this morning.   i was skeptical that the storm would actually materialize since they have been predicting it since monday.  it seems like so often they hype up the weather and then nothing happens!  well, this time it did!!!  the weather outside is definitely frightful!

here is our 21 week ultrasound picture.  the dr said the baby is about a pound already — 74th percentile.  it’s a little early yet, but she is thinking that the baby will be about 8-8 1/2 pounds!  that sounds really big to me!  (ty and i were both much smaller — if you can believe that! )   at the time of the ultrasound, the baby was breech and really low, so the ultrasound tech couldn’t get all the pictures she wanted.   so, the dr. wants another ultrasound done in early january.  she emphasized several times that she is not concerned about anything, she just wants some better pictures.  although the ultrasound tech was able to tell what the baby’s gender is, we chose not to find out.   i really don’t want to know.  ty does, however!    but, we’ll find out soon enough!

21 weeks and 2 days old

technology is so amazing!  it’s so incredible to me to be able to see the baby’s spine in this picture.   i was crying during the ultrasound.    this whole pregnancy has been overwhelming and wonderful all at the same time!
