what a day!

so, yesterday was an amazing day!  my time is short, we slept in this morning and need to get going to the show, so i’ll make a quick list:

  1. i met my favorite designer, ali edwards.  she was at the ck media booth to sign autographs.  a new friend sharon and i were the first two people in line :) .  not only did she sign for me the two books of hers that i own and brought to the convention (i knew she was going to be there on saturday), but she gave out 10 personalized signed copies of her new book which isn’t being released until august!  i was so excited!  laura took pictures of sharon and i in line, and she snapped a few while i was talking to ali.  i also had my picture taken with her!  ok, so i sound like a crazy stalker fan, which i’m not usually that way.  but, i deeply admire ali’s work, and she is a very down to earth person.  i really enjoy her blog.
  2. laura met had a few appointments with some big name people in the scrapbooking industry.  laura has done a lot with home decor using scrapbooking materials and techniques.  so, between that and her albums, she’s generating some buzzz!  so, that is really cool.  her designer showcase was beautiful.
  3. we made a couple new friends this weekend.  cathy and laura kind of knew each other from both being on the clear scraps design team.  and we’ve gotten to know cathy’s friend sharon as well.  the four of us had a great night last night!  dinner was hilarious, and we took a few pictures, of course!  our waiter george looked like robin williams, and had the personality too!  the dessert we ordered was a 1/4 of a cake, and it was the size of my head (or bigger!).  i’m not joking either!  laura has pictures that i can’t wait to get!
  4. i took an ultimate hybrid scrapbooking class, sponsored by glitz design.  the girl who taught it did an amazing job.  everyone in the class received a cd, and i won an additional cd for asking a great question!  i also received two other give aways!  and, today if i stop by their booth and mention yesterday’s class, i’ll get something in addition!
  5. i did several cool “make and takes” yesterday!  a couple mini-recipe books, and a mini “memos & notes” book.  and a pretty butterfly picture frame.  laura got a free give-away of a new paperline, which she already had so…she gave it to me! :)   lol!  there are a couple today that i would like to try and take.  we’ll see if i have a chance too.

ok, i need to go.  laura is almost ready and i need to finish.  so, i’m off :)   and yes, as my friend debbie so fittingly stated, “i’m in dawn heaven.”  i can’t wait to post some pictures!

  1. I just wanted to say how much fun it was to spend the last 5 days with you! You truly are a “sister” in more ways than one! I appreciated all the help you gave me as well and LOVED all the fun we had together! Cathy just posted on our CS message board that it was one of the best trips of her life! Pretty cool huh? Can’t wait to continue the fun in a couple of weeks in Holland! Love ya, Laura
